April 6th – Committee Meeting at Tricia’s House. 8:15PM (check email for location)

  • Parents helpers please attend if helping with CrossOver, Camp40A camping or Pinewood or to simply meet friends.

April 10th Arrow of Light & Webelos only (4th/5thgraders) – CrossOver Advancement Ceremony & Campout – Reading Town Forest @ ScrubHill (farthest Ring back of RTF)

  • 3:45PM Webelos helpers meet CompostCenter entrance – for set up/camp/dinner prep
  • 5PM Arrow of Light Families arrive, set up Tents
  • ~5:30PM Camp Dinner
  • 6PM-7PM AOL Awards program and CrossOver
  • 7PM -AOL slideshow and Smores
  • 8:30PM -Hike out or Camp (4th&5th grade families only)
  • 10PM Quiet time

April 14, 2021 Girls Only Campfire at 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wood End Elementary -this is really cool and a first in Pack 735. The girls in the Troop have planned a fun event for our Cub Scout Girls. This helps them complete Leadership requirements and provides our girls with a wonderful Girl-Led Cub Scout event. Bring a friend!

April 24th -Daytime- Den Rotations to Cut Pinewood Derby Cars, @ Tricia’s driveway..43 Pinevale Ave, Reading…

  • Traditionally called “CutNight” in past…this is where you will cut out and sand your Pinewood Derby Car. DON”T, DON”T FORGET to bring your Scout’s car kit!!! You will need the kit (block of wood) to cut the car.

  • Adult helpers will operate the band saws. You’ll design using provided templates (ahead of this meeting) or your own design then sand your car. You will do everything except paint or put on wheels
  • Mid-day Den Rotation Car Building schedule:
    • 9:30-10:30AM -Webelos, 4th Graders
    • 11AM-noon -Bears, 3rd Graders
    • 12:30-1:30PM – Wolf, 2nd Graders
    • 2-3PM -Lions, Kindergarten
    • 3:30-4:30PM – Tigers, 1st Graders
    • We are very aware of Soccer/Baseball. Schedule above sync’d w/ RUSC Soccer. …sorry Baseball friends. We did our best.
  • ProTip…if your Scout opened the box already put their wheels and axles in a ziplock back ASAP!!
    Also-we will post some templates and design ideas on our Pinewood page shortly…page will be updated by 4/9

April 24th-25th -Overnight Camping, Signup required, Camp 40 Acres (limited sign up)

  • Space limited due to distancing and parking limitations. Sign up will be sent via email
  • 5:30-6:30PM Tent Set up.
  • 7PM Simple Camp Dinner w/ Camp Program
  • 9PM Quiet Time
  • 10PM Lights out
  • Breakfast following morning 7-8AM
  • All campers packed and gone by 10AM

Pinewood Derby Details!!

May21st Friday!-RaceCar drop off “ImpoundNight” for Pinewood (all racers must drop off cars and weigh in)

  • 5PM – 7PM at St Athanasius Parish, 200 Haverhill St, Reading, MA.
  • You will drop off Completed cars and “weigh in” and get labeled for racing. All cars must be 5oz or less to race.
  • Our Pinewood Derby pit crew will bring your car to the races

May 22nd Saturday-Daytime- Pinewood Derby, 3 race blocks, Camp 40 Acres

  • Race Blocks! Two Dens per block…will be a ton of fun.
    • 10AM-11:30AM – Lions (K) and Bear (3rd) Den races
    • Noon-1:30PM – Wolf (2nd) and Webelos (4th) Den races
    • 2-3:30PM – Tigers (1st) and AOL’s (5th) Den races

  • Parking is limited. Please do not arrive more than 15min prior to your bracket to allow others time to exit the one way entrance.
  • Please note- we understand that Soccer and Baseball happening…most of our Scouts will skip one game for the Pinewood Derby, including some Coaches who will find alternate coach this day.

    Pinewood normally in February but due to pandemic we moved to May so we could host this outside.

Service Project and Final Awards Celebration!

May 29th Saturday 9AM – Memorial Flags/Flowers Service Project-@ Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading, MA (entire Pack) -Meet at Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading, MA. We will be placing Flags and Flowers on Veteran Graves. This is both fun, beautiful and moving. The entire Pack will join for this Service Project. Many hands make light work!

Memorial Day Weekend 2019 Flag and Flower Placement Service Project

June 11 -Evening- Final Rank Awards Ceremony, Reading Town Forest -Old Council Ring

  • Meet at the Old Council Ring in Middle of Forest -the large Fire Ring with Benches made through the goodness and service of Reading’s Eagle Scouts
  • Takes 15-20minutes to walk in from either WoodEnd or the Compost Center. Plan appropriately
  • Don’t miss this…all Pack 735 Cub Scouts are getting their Rank this year so long as they showed up. This year wasn’t easy due to COVID and we don’t want that to hold anyone back. …but Adventure Loops…you must complete those as a Den to get Loop Awards

June 13 Sunday 8AM -Collect/remove Memorial Flags/Flowers Service Project- Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading, MA (entire Pack) -Meet at Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading, MA. We will be collecting flags that we placed on Veteran Graves. The entire Pack will join for this Service Project. Many hands make light work!
