June Events and Activities

As we head into the final month of our official cub scout season, I am sharing with you the details for the pack events and activities we have planned for June.

Friday, June 10th @ 6:30 PM – All pack rank advancement ceremony at Wood End Elementary council ring

  • All scouts will receive the rank and remaining adventures they have been working on this year
  • Campfire with songs, skits, and s’mores
  • All scouts and den leaders should wear their Class A uniform
  • Park at Wood End Elementary School and walk to the town forest entrance next to the soccer field. Signs and glow sticks will guide you to the council ring (about 100 ft from the forest entrance.) 

Saturday, June 11th – 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM – Cub Scout Fun at Reading Town Day – Birch Meadow fields

  • To show off how much fun we have and invite new scouts to join us, all three packs in Reading are sponsoring a booth at this year’s Reading Town Day 
  • We will be having our scouts and visitors launch water bottle rockets and build and race balloon rockets in a space derby
  • Our pack will be staffing the booth from 11:30 -1:30.
  • Feel free to come for only a little bit or stay for the whole time
  • All scouts and den leaders should wear their Class A uniform

Sunday, June 12th @ 8:00 AM – Collect flags, flowers, and markers at Forest Glen Cemetery.

  • Meet at Forest Glen Cemetery (Pearl St & Forest Glen Rd) to collect flags and flowers from our veterans’ graves.
  • Bring the 6 essentials for your scout and/or siblings and don’t forget to bring water!

Please also look out for emails from your den leaders for additional meetings and activities they are planning for your den.
